I painted this while on a six week adventure with a dear friend, and fellow artist, Jodie Maurer. We roamed around Maine and New Hampshire in the dismal March weather which hovered somewhere between 34 - 42 degrees F. The colors in reality were brown, gray, and dark gray, and it rained A LOT on that trip, so this presented a fun challenge to try to find and heighten the colors that were secretly there. As you can see in this painting, I imagined it was fall, with bits of sunshine peaking through the clouds and lighting on the mountains. This is called artistic license. :-)
