This piece was inspired by Kaki King's beautiful song, "All the Landslides Birds have Seen." The music is stunning and engaging - taking the listener on a journey that culminates in a crescendo, that to me sounded like a flurry of snow. So I painted this to seem more like a whirl of thoughts (birds / angel messages) swirling up out of an avalanche in a burst of inspiration.
It was originally intended to be displayed as a Japanese screen - or room divider - painted in separate sections as to be independent panels. But for the sake of simplicity, I recombined the sections into one standard-sized image. That's why you can look closely and see lines where the divisions had been. I toyed with the idea of photoshopping out those lines, but decided not to, as I see it as par t of the story and now a compositional element. I hope this painting brings joy and uplift to your home.
